For Sacramento, this game is all about the addition and impact of DeMar DeRozan who scored 24.0 points and had 5.3 for Chicago last year. His impact as a scorer and all-around player including defense, lets De’Aaron Fox focus on the play-making aspect of the game. As Fox had 26.6 points and 5.6 assists last season, his speed on the court is unmatched and has also propelled him to be a guy averaging 2.0 steals on defense a night. 

His duo with Domontas Sabonis, 19.4 points and 13.7 rebounds, has become unmatchable. As the All-Star center is a big-time passer too, with 8.2 assists a night last season, he will be able to feed DeRozan or Kevin Huerter as the main perimeter shooters. As Keegan Murray is a huge wild card at power forward on this team, if he can live up to the hype that Sacramento drafted him with and Malik Monk is still an amazing 6th man, this Kings squad is someone no one wants to play.

After the Minnesota Timberwolves came off a season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, this will be a big game for them to show how they can fit in while minimizing turnovers. Going up against a Sacramento squad that is eager to make the playoffs after a tough play-in exit last season, this game is vital for them against a top contender. 

Looking at this Timberwolves squad, their offense will run through Anthony Edwards, 27 points with 6 rebounds, as he has shown freakish athleticism and a great ability to knock down jumpers. Although Mike Conley, 5 points on 1-7 shooting, really struggled in his first game this year, his talent to pass and court vision are still going to be a positive for this team. 

Jaden McDaniels, 6 points and 1 steal against the Lakers will be one of their key three and d guys along with Naz Reid, who finished with 12 points in addition to 4 boards. One player who continued standing out was Rudy Gobert, with 14 rebounds last game, and if Julius Randle finally fits in, this squad will play at a very high level.

With Minnesota trying to regain their prowess and form from last season, this is a great matchup for them to become stronger. As the Kings themselves want to become a Western Conference powerhouse, both squads will face off in a potential playoff matchup that could occur during April. 

The biggest thing for the Timberwolves is getting Anthony Edwards going early as he can make De’Aaron Fox pay on the defensive end and even force a double with Sabonis to get Gobert open in the middle. As a team that constantly likes switching things up, having a ball handler like Conley will help the pick-and-roll game work early, causing Keegan Murray to guard Edwards or Julius Randle on the open floor. 

With Randle and DiVencenzo showing great progress through their pick-and-roll action, it will help the Timberwolves start using more of the three-point shot. This will be a very tight game and if the Kings do play great defense an opposite result could occur.
