Brooklyn Nets vs Orlando Magic Match Preview

As the Brooklyn Nets are playing to be a competitive basketball team this season, they had a very strong showing against the Atlanta Hawks. Although this is a team focused on their future and getting a lottery pick, some pieces that will remain include their rising star shooting guard, Cam Thomas. Thomas, who scored 36 against Atlanta, has proven to be one of the most effective scorers even if he gets limited minutes to play. His ability to shoot off the dribble and even knock down long threes gives this Nets team something exciting at one position. As Dennis Schroeder, 13 points with 7 assists, provides veteran leadership, he will help many young players like Jalen Wilson, extremely efficient night with 16 points in game 1, fit into their roles. Under head coach Jordi Fernandez, a regime takes place and Brooklyn will look to move on from Nic Claxton, 5 rebounds in 15 minutes against the Hawks, plus Dorian Finney-Smith. With Ben Simmons, 8 assists and 6 rebounds, coming back from injury, this group will have a tall playmaker that they can rely on to get the ball from. With Brooklyn trying to work with guys like Noah Clowney this is the year of how the team fits together so far.

Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have successfully transitioned from their rebuilding stages and become real threats in the East. After an impressive 116-97 win over the Heat, this Orlando squad really looks primed to make a very deep playoff run. Led by Paolo Banchero, 33 points in the opener, his versatility as a forward gives this team a scorer they can rely on inside. He finished with 11 rebounds, he and Franz Wagner, 23 points while putting on a shooting display, have become a big duo for Orlando lately. Adding Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, an elite defender with great three-point efficiency, has cleared out a lot of the Magic needs this offseason and helps create a backcourt with Jalen Suggs. Although Suggs only had one steal against Miami, his ability to create traps for the Heat’s Jimmy Butler and help Wendell Carter Jr., 14 rebounds, be a force on the glass was vital in their performance. Seeing the progression of Anthony Black, 10 points with 6 rebounds in the season opener, Jamahl Mosley has this group ready for big-time showdowns against real threats.

Brooklyn Nets vs Orlando Magic Betting Tips

Total Match Points Over 216.5-  Although Orlando has a good offense that once again is making moves to get into that elite status, they are facing a Brooklyn team that lacks a shooter outside of Cam Thomas. Although the last time these two sides played their combined score was at 220, this is a lot different since Brooklyn no longer has Mikal Bridges.

Total Points in the First Half Over 108.5 - Orlando was really near the bottom of the league in 1st half scoring 54.9 points per game, the Net's number will drop a little more this season after they don’t pose the same offensive prowess anymore. As these two teams combined for 99 points last time in the 1st half, this score should remain somewhere around there.

Magic Score Over 105 Points During Whole Game- With Magic being one of the most developing offenses league-wide, some of their player's long-range abilities have impacted the way they run from the point now. Scoring over 100 points against the Nets in the last 4 games, this streak should continue as their offense just keeps advancing in all aspects for Orlando.

Brooklyn Nets vs Orlando Magic Match Prediction

As the Brooklyn Nets enter this game in hopes of keeping it close, they have lost two straight games to Orlando in convincing fashion. With Cooper Flagg being the guy they want on their team next year, the Nets are just trying to be as competitive as possible with less talent to obtain the top draft pick. Looking at their side, although Dennis Schroeder provides some great passing abilities and mentorship, Jalen Suggs's defense will play a factor in this game. With Brooklyn starting the very skinny Nic Claxton on Wendell Carter Jr., the Magic will be able to have a huge advantage on the glass given that Banchero will probably line up against Finney-Smith. Even if Simmons comes off the bench as a top playmaker, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will always drop as a constant force and help Anthony Black develop into a premier pass pick-pocketer. Given that the Nets are trying to develop Jalen Wilson and Noah Clowney’s games, the Magic will have the advantage from start to finish with way more experience plus talent around.

Our Prediction- Orlando Magic to Win
