After a 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has talked about the club’s collective commitment to strive hard and turn things around. This loss was United’s second consecutive 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford with the Red Devils scoring just one goal at home in the current Premier League season. This start follows the lines of their previous worst start in Premier League history.

Earlier this year, Ten Hag extended his contract until June 2026. He laid emphasis on the unity between the owners, leaders and players of the club. “We all made the decision to stay together as a club in the summer. We know what we need to improve, but it takes time,” he stated. “We're all on the same page—players, staff and leadership.”

Ten Hag Acknowledges Setbacks But Remains Optimistic

Ten Hag admitted that this dismissal made things harder but he also highlighted shortcomings related to ball possession and poor decision-making as equally critical.

In spite of this setback, Ten Hag is optimistic. “It's always a new day. Tomorrow is a new opportunity. We need to learn from this, improve our pressing, and be better on the ball,” he mentioned.

As Manchester United now stands 12th in the Premier League, Ten Hag holds a strong belief that the team still has the potential to turn their season around. “We will start fresh and move on,” he assured fans. “The season is still young.”
